Why A2??

Education: The three most compelling reasons to buy A² are education, education and education. There is no reason to purchase a curriculum unless your children will thrive academically on it. Many of our users report that their children are advancing up to two grade levels each and every year. Our methods teach children how to learn, not just to memorize facts. Most of our materials were first published long before political correctness was conceived so they are untouched by current fads and revisionist history, etc.

Ease of use: A² is very easy to use. If you can navigate a simple web site, you can use A² Curriculum. A² is a huge web site resident on a CD so no internet connection is required. Just click and print the text book. That is all there is to using A², in fact many families assign the duties of printing the materials to their children. Almost all the files on the A² CD are either html, text, or pdf files, the most common and easiest to use file types on the web. Recently we called a family to provide technical support. A delightful twelve year old young lady explained the problem she was encountering, and followed the instructions perfectly as we resolved the problem. This twelve year old girl was using A² to educate her younger brother while their single mother was at work.

Organization: Everything is laid out for you with a complete scope and sequence providing a clear road map for your homeschool. Everything is organized by grade level and by subject.

Value: Homeschool curriculum is expensive. Curriculum costs hundreds of dollars, per child, each and every year. It can cost $300 for a single course for a year. A² covers kindergarten through 12th grade. It only costs $99 and the whole family can use it for no additional cost. This means that A² only costs $7.70 per year. That cannot be beat.

Workload: Many products require extensive work on the part of parents; preparation, lesson plans, record keeping, correcting papers and worksheets. Some of this is impossible to avoid; however, A² has minimized the work to an amazing degree without compromizing your child's education. Using our methods and materials eliminates the need for lesson plans. Correcting papers and worksheets cannot be avoided; however, our methods almost (but not quite) make this a thing of the past. We do this by making children responsible for their own education.

Support: When you buy A² you are not on your own. We operate a user group with hundreds of others who also use A². They are wonderful. These good people are available to answer a host of questions. Thousands of messages are in our archives, available to be searched and referenced. You also get the home phone number of the creator of A². When you require personal technical support or just a little hand holding; it is as close as your telephone.

Quality: Many of our text books were in common usage in the 1800's. In those days schools were run by parents, and schools had very limited financial resources. Teachers frequently only had an eighth grade education. The books they used had to work and work well. The books had to be simple enough for these teachers to use and the principles they taught had to be self evident. Can old books possibly be as good as modern text book? The answer is a resounding YES! Nouns and verbs have not changed in several life times. Algebra and geometry are unchanged. History books written close the the events are frequently more accurate than those written years later.

Unique Content: You may have heard that A² contains many public domain texts available for free on the Internet. This is true. These free materials are not ready to print and may require a high speed Internet connection to download. If these materials are printed without being properly formatted they will waste paper, creating unnecessary cost. The public domain materials that form the core of A² are formatted and ready to print, saving you time and money. Many of the materials contained in A² are unique and are not public domain. Our phonics materials, grammar game, math worksheet generator, math text, and many other materials are either not public domain or are not readily available elsewhere. A²: often imitated, but never duplicated.
